Energize-ing Yoga

At Energize, Yoga isn’t about fancy activewear, confusing terminology or turning yourself into a human pretzel. It’s about slowing down, opening up, and reconnecting with your body. Most of our Yoga classes are designed to be suitable for both absolute novices, and experienced yogis alike. We provide everything you might need – bolsters, blocks, mats, blankets, the lot. And, best of all, membership at Energize includes unlimited classes, without needing to book ahead. Yesss!

Yin, Flow, Hatha – What’s the Difference?

Yin is a slower paced style of Yoga, where poses (sometimes called asanas) are held for between 45 seconds and 5 minutes.

Flow (sometimes called Vinyasa or Ashtanga) is a more dynamic style of Yoga, where you ‘flow’ from one pose to another, without holding the pose.

Hatha is a broad term, used to describe any type of Yoga that focuses on teaching poses. In a practical sense, Hatha Yoga tends to be taught as a gentle introduction to the techniques used across most types of Yoga.

Meeting the Crew

If you are new to Yoga, your best bet is to try one of our Gentle Yoga, Hatha Yoga, or Lengthen and Stretch Classes. You don’t need to book ahead, and you don’t need to bring your own mat (although most people do). Simply turn up 10 minutes before the class is due to start, grab one of our communal mats, and let the instructor know that you are new to the class. They are all super friendly – they’ll show you where to stand and what to do, and they’ll keep an eye on you during the class.
